GROUND SOURCE ENERGY SYSTEMS

Geothermal

Prairie HVAC/R has expertise with design/build/install and maintenance of various Geothermal systems.  We lead the industry for insights in this energy channel, and currently sit on the board of the Manitoba Geothermal Energy Alliance.

Prairie HVAC/R Is Proud To Be The ClimateMaster Rep!

At Prairie HVAC/R, we have experience in all aspects of industrial and commercial mechanical systems.  Offering design, engineering, and installation of a Geothermal system that best suits your needs.  With a track record of successful Geothermal projects, clients have come to trust us as a facilitator for alternative energy solution

What Is Geothermal Energy

The ground absorbs nearly half the solar energy our planet receives.  As a result, the earth remains at a constant moderate temperature just below the surface all year round.  However, air temperature varies greatly from summer to winter, making traditional heating and cooling least efficient when you need it most.

Geothermal heating and cooling systems take advantage of the stable temperature underground.  Using a piping system commonly referred to as a “loop”, water circulates to exchange heat between a building and the earth.  Providing Geothermal heating, cooling, and hot water at remarkably high efficiency.

ClimateMaster Geothermal heating and cooling systems are 400-600% efficient, and can cut your heating, cooling, and hot water costs by up to 80%.

Construction Electrician Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems Certified

DESIGN - Not every solar design is the same, and we will do a complete site assessment to determine your needs.  We take into account your current power usage, so a maximum rebate and return on investment can be achieved with a grid tie system.

SUPPLY – We use only Tier 1 top quality equipment.  All equipment is backed by a 10-25 year manufacturer warranty.

INSTALLATION – Rest assured that your installation will be completed by certified trade persons.  Both Journeyman electricians and roofers, with all projects being overseen by a CSA (NOC 7241) Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems certified Journeyman electrician.

What is Solar Energy?

Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the sun that is harnessed using a range of ever-evolving technologies. Technologies include solar heating, photovoltaics, solar thermal energy, solar architecture, molten salt power plants, and artificial photosynthesis.

It is an important source of renewable energy, and it’s technologies are broadly characterized as passive or active. Passive or active designations are determined by how they capture and distribute solar energy, or convert it into solar power. Active solar techniques include the use of photovoltaic systems, concentrated solar power, and solar water heating to harness the energy. Passive solar techniques include orienting a building to the sun, selecting materials with favorable thermal mass or light dispersing properties, and designing spaces that naturally circulate air.

Grid Tie System

Solar panels are installed on your roof or on a ground mounted system and supply energy to your batteries.  The batteries supply AC power to your equipment through an inverter, or directly to DC equipment.

Off Grid System

Solar panels are installed on your roof or on a ground mounted system and supply energy to your batteries. Through an invertor the batteries supply AC power to your equipment, or directly to DC equipment

Hybrid System

A combination of grid tie and off the grid, the hybrid system integrates batteries to store power for later use.  This allows the system to act as a power back up in the event of grid loss.
